SEMA Show 2026 opens November 3 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. That is three weeks from today. If your booth is not ready, this post is for you. Some things are still possible. Some are not. We will be honest about which is which.
SEMA runs November 3 to 6, 2026. It is a trade show for the automotive aftermarket, open to trade buyers on the first days and open to the public on Friday, November 6. Show hours are 9 am to 5 pm on November 3 to 5, and 9 am to 4 pm on Friday.
Trade press reported 131,942 attendees and 2,283 exhibitors at last year's show. For 2026, SEMA says the floor is nearly sold out, with roughly 1.1 million square feet of indoor exhibit space and about 1 million square feet outdoors, with much of it already committed. Translation: your neighbors are well prepared, and a plain booth will stand out in the wrong way.
A fully custom build in three weeks is a stretch for almost anyone, and rush production costs extra. What we can often do is much more realistic:
A rental exhibit. Rental displays use parts that already exist. Your lead time is mostly graphics. A good rental display with strong graphics is the fastest way to a booth you will be proud of.
A graphics refresh. If you already own a booth, new graphics can change its whole personality in a week or two, as long as the artwork is ready.
A hybrid. Rent the structure and add one custom piece, such as a counter or a branded tower, if the timeline allows.
The honest limit is freight. Many advance warehouse deadlines may already have passed, which means a direct-to-show delivery. That is possible but it needs planning and costs more. Read our advance warehouse breakdown to see how the two options compare. If you are not sure whether your date works, call us. We will tell you in one conversation.
SEMA mixes serious trade buyers with a big public crowd on the last day. That calls for a booth that works two ways.
For buyers: a clear product story, a place to sit and talk, and storage for samples and paperwork. Our first-time exhibitor checklist covers the details that quietly go missing.
For the public on Friday: something visual and easy to understand from a distance. Bold graphics, a strong color scheme and good lighting do most of the work.
If you are displaying a vehicle, check the exhibitor manual for the rules on fuel, batteries and floor protection before you design around it. They differ from venue to venue, and they change what the booth can look like.
Rush work costs more. Overtime labor, expedited shipping and priority production all add up. The venue also charges for electrical, drayage and rigging, and those fees are higher when ordered late. Our guide on what a booth really costs shows where the money goes, and drayage explained covers the one line that surprises people most.
Labor is the other piece. Las Vegas has strict rules about who can do what on the floor. Union labor basics will save you a surprise on install day.
Not exhibiting this year? SEMA is still a great place to learn. Walk the show and take notes on three things: which booths have a line, which booths people walk through without stopping, and what the best booths do with their entrances. Then call us in the new year with your list. It is the cheapest market research you will ever do.
The smartest exhibitors start planning their next show the week the last one closes. For a custom booth, we recommend starting four to six months before the show. That gives time for design, changes, fabrication, pre-build and freight, without paying rush prices. Our trade show checklist and trade show calendar are a good way to map the year.
Bold color. SEMA aisles are full of chrome, paint and neon. A strong, simple color scheme with your logo large and clear cuts through it.
Product within reach. People in this industry want to touch, hold and compare. Open displays beat closed cases.
Height with care. A tall element makes your booth visible across the hall, but your space has height limits and hanging signs have their own rules. Check the manual and read our post on hanging signs first.
Good light on the product. Everything on the floor competes for attention. Light the thing you want people to look at, not the ceiling.
Week one (now): choose a rental or a hybrid, send your artwork and place your electrical order.
Week two: approve graphics proofs, finalize freight and confirm who is on site for install.
Week three: graphics shipped and arrived, booth installed, final walk-through before the doors open on November 3.
When is SEMA Show 2026? November 3 to 6, 2026 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. It is trade-only except Friday, November 6, when it opens to the public.
Can I still get a booth built in time? A full custom build is a stretch. A rental, a graphics refresh or a hybrid is often possible. Call us and we will tell you honestly.
How much does a rush booth cost? More than a normal one. Rush production, expedited freight and late venue orders all add cost. Start with our price check.
When should I start for SEMA 2027? Four to six months before the show for a custom booth.
Send us your space size, your show dates and whatever you already own. We will tell you what is realistic. Contact us or look through our rental displays and gallery first. For Las Vegas specifics, see our Las Vegas Convention Center page.
